"With a voice that's
one part knowingly experienced, like Joni Mitchell, and another part Sarah McLachlan amazed, Yasmin grabs your immediate attention
from the first note sung and never lets go. Within seconds you realize you're listening to somebody special.
While "Jane and John Doe" is dark and brooding, "For Once" celebrates the beautiful confusion of new love.
"For once I don't know what I'm doin'/And I kind of like it," Tayeby sings at one point. This is the sound of somebody
who is usually in complete control, but has given up the reigns and is loving it. "Sleep" trades this five track
sampling's usual aggressively strummed acoustic guitar backing for a softer, more meditative feel. Yasmin Tayeby just may
be destined for greatness."
